If you're looking for an automated sync, you might want to check out the trial version of
G-Backup Full. ($4.99.) It'll auto-dump all pics to the labeled gmail folder you dictate. I've been using it for months and remain a happy customer. You'd start with the sync-all option, with just Pictures check-marked, to push all past pics. Thereafter, you can set it to "immediate" and it'll do its thing automatically to push subsequent pics.
