There are two recovery methods presented, one above and one presented at

It is my understanding that both are based on “update_spi20111102.zip” version but you could also apparently use “update_spi20111028_all_2.3.zip” from the above download. The extraction to “spi_M3_256.bin” is the same.
You get “spi_M3_256.bin” from the MyGica site,

Download UBoot and recovery for 1102 and 1104 firmware from the left hand icon and the 1102 firmware from the centre icon.
The UBoot and recovery file downloaded is named “update_spi20111102.zip”
The download from the centre icon is called Mygica_update20111102.zip. This has Android 2.3 Gingerbread plus the working “You Tube”
Unzip “update_spi20111102.zip” and you will find a number of zip files. The ones that we need are:
uboot_M3_256.img
uboot_M3_512.img
uboot_M3_512F.img
One of these will match your machine.
uboot_M3_256.img is for the ATV300
uboot_M3_512.img is for ATV1000-2000
uboot_M3_512F.img is for ATV1000-2000 with a label underneath something like XXV2XXXXX512.
Simply select the correct “uboot” file and rename it to “spi_M3_256.bin”. (Note that this renaming may not be technically correct but will save you having to remember to change the keying in when you get to it)
