I knew it! July-August!
T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Officially Official
It will cost $200.
If you are a current T-mo customer you can pre-order July 8th, ships July 29th
If you are new you get to buy in early August. So T-mo penalizes the new user and the competition's business. Lovely.
I wonder why they decided to release it so late? Isn't everything ready for a release? Is there something that needs to be done before to July 29th?
I surely hope this is not some pathetic attempt to drum up hype by making people wait by T-mo. People have been waiting for this phone for a long time. No need to make them wait more.
It was down to the myTouch 3G and the iPhone 3GS. The early release of the Pre made me take a look, but I passed. I really wanted the Samsung i7500 (galaxy), but when things ship out on Android time, it is s-l-o-w and I didn't want to wait for another 6mths+. I shudder to think when another Android phone will be RELEASED not announced to be released.
In the end I got the 3GS and I'm pretty happy with it- a myTouch release this month would have made me wait on my purchase and it was a serious contender, especially since the 3GS was a simple upgrade. But since I never had an smartphone, it was all new to me!
Why so slow to market, guys? I am disappointed with how Android products are announced, announced, announced... wait for it, wait for it a bit more, then released. A shock, "myTouch 3G on sale TODAY!" would have been awesome- it would have rocked the smartphone market. Even an announcement that it would be sold at the end of this month would have made me wait. Or how about July 1st? Independence day, open source, free yourself from the closed system? C'mon T-mo... that would have been so cool.
