You're probably right. That said, however, the Samsung lack of customer support for what has to be a known error is infuriating. The scripted indifference and lack of knowledge ("I do apologize for the inconvenience YOU are experiencing" ) does not do the trick, nor does it resolve the issue at hand. And even more maddening was the glad tidings that the manufacturer considers a battery life of 6-8 hours NORMAL.

I've often wondered if I just have a defective unit. Prior to this "update" I would notice my battery getting really hot after a few minutes of use. Now, that seems to have gone away, but so has battery life. I'm thinking of going in to AT&T for a warranty exchange.
