Just simply reporting the news will typically slant you in one direction. If you report that a large local company is dumping illegally then you're considered a liberal tree-hugger. If you report social injustices then you're also viewed as a liberal. Sure the way a story is presented by a newscaster can demonstrate what biases that newscaster has about a story. Fox and MSNBC actively seeking out one side or another proves that they've decided to slant it. I'd rather a news organization just report the news and let people decide whether or not they're showing bias or the story is being reported from an unbiased point of view. It's hard to take a news organization serious when they've decided to influence the news and how it's presented.
