Replace or not
I have had my Droid since the second week that they were available. Occasionally I will touch the button on the top of the phone to turn the screen back on. Nothing happens. I have to pry off the Body Glove (which is a pain in the ass) and then remove the battery and then put it back in. then I can turn the phone back on. I have taken the phone back to Verizon store and was told that be cause the phone was in fact a computer, that it could from time to time freeze up. This problem has persisted. As much as I love my new toy, it is first and foremost a phone. I would like to believe that if someone needed to get in touch with me that the phone would actually ring. the frequency of this problem has caused me to have concern. I have called Verizon Customer Service and explained the problem an on two separate occasions I was told that they would replace the phone if I wanted. About a week ago I visited the local Verizon store and the tech advised me that in all likelihood an app was "freezing" while the phone was in hibernation. I went home and deleted several apps I was not using and I thought that might be the problem. Two nights ago it happened again....twice. I called Customer Service and they still said they would be happy to send me a new phone.
Another issue I have noted is that when I turn the phone on from hibernation that the four icons on the bottom of the phone sometimes lights up and sometimes it does not. I realize it adjusts for the ambient light but under the same conditions it tends to still not light up. I then put the phone in hibernation and then out of it. the light comes on.
So I have three questions
How do I find out if I have an app that may be freezing?
Is the light thing normal or not?
Should I replace the phone?
