There is a root method thats easy as hell. Its through the cricket users site. As far as the hotspot, i never tried it when my phone wasnt rooted but since rooting, i downloaded an app for it. Pretty quick. After two months with this thing Im definitely still pleased. Especially coming from the crappy Zio.
