yup. whenever you run an RUU(.exe or PB31IMG) it will wipe your data,requiring re-setup when youre done.

id recomend not spending too much time setting 2.2 back up,as you really just need it to s-off. after you re root and have s-off,you can flash a rom that wont constantly hound you to update it
