I discovered today that when I open the messaging app to check text messages, the screen will flash black and close to the home screen. The usual "force close" option doesn't appear -- it just crashes to the home screen. This just began today and I haven't done anything unusual with my phone. I didn't install any apps recently and I have no custom anything that might affect the phone. I've removed the battery, taken the SD out and put it back in and restarted the phone many times. I'm hoping someone has an idea of a solution other than wiping the entire thing clean and hoping it works. Thanks in advance.
