I was using Handcent and uninstalled it because I thought that was the cause of the jumping. I've tried "Better keyboard", Cool touch keyboard, swype and the standard keyboard but
not the HTC_IME and it still happens. It's really frustrating because I text a lot and you basically have to exit and kill the process before it will stop doing it.
