Problem connecting to home Wi-Fi
I have a Speedtouch router supplying a wireless connection to my house
my son has a HTC Wildfire S
He got the phone for Christmas and its been a problem the whole time.
IF i give the phone a static IP and use my ISP DNS settings it works
but then obviously, when he goes to friends or anywhere else the Wi-Fi wont work because its looking for the gateway we have at home
IF i give it a static IP and use googles DNS 126.96.36.199 and 188.8.131.52 i can browse but the Android Market wont load and Apps wont work
How can i get it to connect auto?
we have 2 IPhones, 2 Laptops and an Ipod in the house and all connect auto without any settings needing altering?
I know some people will just say, set it up with my ISP setting and tell him not to use it on any other Wi-Fi but at home.
But he should be able to use it at Wi-Fi hotspots and friends... if he cant then i see no alternative but to sell the phone and get something that can
Any help is appreciated
