Amen brother, and this isn't an Apple bashing thing either. Collusion and price fixing is bad for consumers.
I've actually taken to smashwords for most of my ebooks as there are mostly independent authors and a lot of free books to read. Before someone reports this as piracy, it is legit site, the books are self published and posted to the site by the authors. A friend of mine recently published a book and pointed me to the site.
