Slow news day possibly. Our media has become a perverted one-upmanship shell of what it used to be. It's more about who can draw in a bigger audience to view a trainwreck of a story as opposed to who can bring in the best thought provoking stories. I call it the Fox news phenomena. It's as if they realized that Jerry Springer type of stories will draw in the ratings and have created "infotainment" as a result. Don Henley sang about it a long time ago, Dirty Laundry....
