Now...I could....and one might argue that I should go investigage Skype and not ask any question about it here....but the way I see it....it's very pertinent to this phone and it's usability. And...I don't think it's anymore off topic than what color back plates might be offered in...or what batteries might be available. Now...you want to talk about OFF TOPIC? Try discussing sports teams or places to get a good burger! Or...try talking about the iPhone....but with NO reference to the Incredible. Am I wrong? I guess it really doesn't matter....it's the Moderators call...or perhaps someone else who has assigned themselves hall monitor.
I get that this is the OFFICIAL HTC INCREDIBLE forum...but until the phone comes out...how can anything be "official". With all this said (and off topic) I am sure this post might be deleted. Btw....thank you to the people who replied about the Skype function. What that tells me is...if I want to make a call...I better look for a McDonalds and be willing to pay. As luck would have it...I might not even get to go to Europe again before this phone is old news....but if I am lucky enough to return for vacation....it will be an option...and I won't have to feel cheated that I don't have a GSM phone.

Skype will be running on the 3G side of the phone or wifi. This is why Verizon is getting an exclusive deal. I would guess android or blackberry devices on Verizon will now be a worldphone with this. No need of adding the expense of a sim card to the phone where you could switch carriers later. Sounds like a smart move for Verizon to make you stay with them. I could be reading into their strategy wrong. Here is some links anyways.
