You have those too? There's one kid in my class who *every* day without fail, asks something stupid. Here's the scenario:

Teacher: We take the negative component because then these two add and it gives us the worst case.

Annoying Student: So which one do we take? Should we do both and figure out which one's worse?

T: Yes.

A.S.: So what you're saying is...

T: You take the worst case.

A.S.: Are there any shortcuts we should know about or should we always just calculate both scenarios?

T: Just do both.


The teacher hates him just as much. It doesn't help that he comes in *every* day 20-30 minutes late. And this is to a class that's only an hour long.

Oh, and he talks about how "easy" architecture is (he's a dual arch/civil like myself) and how the world shouldn't need architects because the civil engineers should just be able to do their job.
