No solution?
This is such a basic requirement that I can't believe there's no solution. And -- it has nothing to do with the music player, the issue is to keep the album art from overwhelming the Android Gallery app.
What we need is an analogue to the .nomedia construct like ".noimages" that will tell the OS to catalog everything except images. This isn't rocket science...
