If you want something simple, all you need to do is download DroidMod Updater. Go to droidmod.org on your phone and download their updater and launch it. This method is more useful because if something goes wrong in DroidMod you won't have any idea what to do. Also, their ROM is inferior to newer releases (but still miles ahead of stock  ).
