Don't even bother with the store. Just call Sprint directly. Tell them you need this issue resolved during this phone call or you need to cancel your account. This will get their attention. You CAN and WILL get a new phone from a service rep manager.

I had issues with a Palm Pre and even more issues with the second Palm Pre they gave me to replace the "lemon" I got the first time (don't ask!!). However, the employees in the store would do nothing for me saying they already replaced one Pre and would not replace it again, and would not let me trade it for a Hero. When I told the employee at the store that I would cancel my Sprint account if he could not help me, he said, "Well, that is your choice." I went home and called Sprint, spoke with 3 reps who couldn't do anything for me. The third rep told me I HAD to go back to the store. I said that I am never going back to that store and if he couldn't help me, I was done with Sprint. The fourth person they transfered me to replaced my Pre with a Hero. New phone shipped to me within 2 days. Pre sent back to them via UPS with Sprint paying for all the fees.

My theory is this: The people working at the stores are employees paid an hourly rate. They are NOT invested in Sprint's success, or lack there of. If Sprint goes down, they just move on to the next retail job. However, the managers at the call centers are fully invested because this is a "career" to them. The more happy customers they have, the bigger their bonuses, raises, promotions, etc. will be.

I have been with Sprint for 5 years and was fully ready to dump them because of the trouble I had, and the lack of help I was getting, with the Palm Pre. I didn't WANT to leave Sprint, but I would have if my issues were not resolved.
