because some people like pleasing aesthetics in the car. You drop coin on a nice car and junk it up with cables everywhere. You put an effort into keeping your car look neat and you have cables going everywhere. It's just one more cable sticking out the other end. Looks junky. Another thing to plug and unplug when you get in and out of the car as well. Besides, if you do something like the Parrot system or other similar ones, you have a hands free system that can do double duty as a nice speakerphone as well as BT music gateway as well as playing the speaker portion of calls through your car speakers. Handsfree is a must in this day and age as well as the law in many places so why not buy something that can be the complete solution and have it look as clean and OEM as possible?

I did the aux/3.5 jack thing, and just use a splitter to charge/listen to my mytouch in the car.
