You are correct, I should have said that it would be "new service" rather than "a new contract", but it would still involve the same voice and tiered data plans with AT&T, they just wouldn't be committed to them beyond a month-to-month basis.

The Motorola Mobility merger with Google and the relationship of Motorola with Verizon does make it seem likely that there will be Nexus devices on Verizon in the future.
