Hello,
I am using a Samsung Galaxy S2 with updated ICS (Android 4.0.3) and am unable to create a cert based authentication to an Exchange 2010 for e-mail synchronization too.

I imported the pfx-certificate from our own PKI including the private key into the Settings -> Security menu including Root an Sub-CA.

In the app's account creating screen I entered the account credentials and the host and ticked the two settings "Use secure connection (SSL)" and "Use client certificate". Strangely the stock e-mail app cannot access this certificate, so that I had to re-import it into the app.
After selecting this cert I got the message "certificate is not meant for this e-mail address" or something like that. I then cannot get a connection to my Exchange server as I get the error "wrong username or password".
I am 100% sure that username and password are correct.

My question: is it even possible to authenticate an Android 4 phone to an Exchange Server using certificates and if how?

Greetings
