My Droid is a phone, a GPS, web browser, camera, camcorder, and about 101 other things. That's the way it was advertised, that's how it was presented, that's what sold me, that's what I bought.
I rooted, and love it even more. Rooting actually enhanced most of it's stock features, fixed a few things that should have already worked, and added some nice things that's not available to stock users.
And yes, I also have a phone. It's in the attic. It's got a push-button keypad that lights up, and it's also an answering machine. If I dust it off and plug it in, it may still work. I don't use it anymore. It's just a phone.
It's in a cardboard box, next to a black and white TV and an old Tandy computer.
