That sounds pretty bad. It appears that either the OS firmware is corrupt, or you've encountered a critical hardware failure. Based on your account of how this started, I would guess the latter. I'm guessing this only because in your first post, you wrote that the tablet was just streaming and died. That particular type of failure would not likely have been caused by a firmware update interruption, because the device would have already booted successfully for you to be using it as you stated you were when it failed.
While this appears to be a hardware problem, it also seems that you have little to lose by downloading a stock ROM of whatever version you were running and trying a flash ROM recovery via the SD card. You could also try the custom ROM route, and there may actually be more support available for that solution.
