You are definitely doing something wrong & you are also posting in the wrong section of this forum. Post your problems & look for solutions in the Rooting section of the Nexus 1 forum.

It isn't an easy process for those new to it (I cannot remember how to type the commands to flash a new radio LOL) but follow the guide in the above section & it should be not too difficult (if I can do it, anybody can )
