I kind of shy away from moving things as opposed to copying until I am sure I'm not messing things up.
Some apps will only look in certain places (they don't go for being told where to look).
Also, I have lost countless music and picture/video media moving between internal DCIM and eternal DCIM. I think some things get overwritten for one reason or another, sometimes.
