My droid incredible had been replaced due to a defective charging port within the phone

The phone I have now uses 2.3.4

but the build number is newer than most people are posting on this thread.

I'm using 4.08.605.15

It doesn't seem to be syncing up to the unrevoked 3.21 or 3.22 at all >

I'd really appreciate some guidance on where to go with this one

Do i have to downgrade before doing anything else?
you guys can try gaining temp root with zergrush(method in post 2),or with the htc supertool (htc supertool )

using the supertool to prep, then perm root may let you install rom manager, then clockwork if your main desire is to make a backup. with permanent root from htc supertool, you should be able to download and run titanium, also, wich will make resetting up easier.

or you can use the other thread to use htcdev unlock.
