The other side of the same coin is that you had better know what can maim or kill you in general. Don't play in fire. Don't try to pet cats with white stripes on their backs. Don't try to hug a tornado. Don't expect other motorists to read your mind. So on and so forth.
"Kill them all" isn't a panacea. In fact, that kind of mentality tends to cause even more (and usually worse) problems in the long run.
