As much as I hate to say this, the HOX blows away my Nexus. Pretty much in all respects. Reception. Check, calls are great, even when I was down in Deer Trail, calls where good. Data was pretty consistant, given the fact I was out east. A couple times it dropped to E (edge) and data crawled, this is understandable due to my location. I was able to pull up a radar image when needed pretty much, though it did take a bit in a few areas. Same getting twitter, but this is Edge so.
Battery life? Yeah. I charge my Nexus in the morning before going to work and take a spare battery. There has been a few times I have totally drained the battery before leaving work, or needed to swap out before or just after I get home. The HOX, even under the stress I put it under during the chase, the battery was still about 1/4 full by the time I got home. This was from phone calls, radar maps, twitter, and a bit of web browsing and tapatalk use.
Camera? Well, it is a phone, but the photos are decent. Many shot with the nexus, which, BTW, I had to buy HDR+ to make the camera useful, still where not great. The HOX does a better job, though some of the shots I take, I am asking a lot of, like storm clouds.
Screen. No contest here. The One X makes the nexus look like its using a 15 watt lightbulb vs a 100 watt! The screen is beautiful.
Drivers (windows 7) yeah, no contest here either. Installing the HTC drivers, rooting and unlocking the bootloader (while did cause a few hiccups) was not a major PITA like the MTP drivers for the Nexus.
Sound: Yeah, music sounds better from the HOX as well. Its just a bit louder, could be a Beats thing, but still, some of my albums are louder and sounds pretty good. I am using a pair of cheap 10 sony headphones.
The bottom line?
So far, despite a few minor issues, the One X just blows away my Nexus. Sad to say, but its true. The phone has, so far, proved itself way better then the erratic data connection of the nexus. I even got a slight signal in my basement (will still need the network extender).
Now, there are a few possibilities I need to clear up:
1) My nexus could just be a lemon (it was a refurb)
2) Verizon could just suck in my area
So, there you have it.
Hope I am still allowed to play here with my AT&T contraband
