For the first issue try turning off audible dtmf from the audio/echo settings in GrooVe IP. That may help. For the second are you using WiFi or a mobile data connection? It could be latency on the network, or it could be something on the device going into a power saving state. Try the keep screen alive checkbox and then maybe synchronize voice.
