Well, I wish I hadn't gotten my Treo 755 wet back in August, it was just fine until then....
So I'm stuck with this droid, and my own setup is something like this:
NoteEverything - best memo / note app I've yet used on the droid
NE GDocs (tool for NoteEverything)
GDocs- somewhat useful
MobileWrite- graffiti, need I say more? (OK, it needs some better settings)
Contact Search+ - without which I would have probably pitched my droid.
"shred" was vital to my data migration; priceless.
I was only a sporadic user of the Palms Tasks or To-Do function, so, while I'm not pleased with this droid as a task-managment tool, I haven't let it bug me too much.
The preceeding info may be helpful to some, but I'm still hoping for better.
Contacts on the Droid SUCK. Contacts on gmail when accessed from a laptop or desktop using Firefox or IE are still inferior to Palm Desktop or Outlook (inter-alia).
We need a Contacts app on the Droid (and other 'droids) that is as straightforward, easy to use, stable, and complete as the address book app from the Palms, Handsprings, and Clies. Either that, or we need to be able to return these lousy things for full credit, and our carriers continue to sell and support old models of Treos.
I PRAY that an app dev or Google or SOMEBODY will write an app to REPLACE the LOUSY "contacts" function of the Android OS, with something better than anything Google has yet given us for managing OUR contact data. Palm gave us a very good tool long ago, and they lost their position and market share by not continuing to support their own stuff or adapt. You know, at some point all these kids that are carrying all these "ipods with a built in phone and google maps too" will grow up to the point of wanting good PIM functionality also.
