Try doing this, except I think "recovery" is mounted somewhere else on this phone, you would have to pull it from there instead.

That's where you would flash them, yes. Unfortunately I don't know the specifics of flashing recoveries and whatnot at the moment, but this is what I have found so far:
You *might* be able to do this and have it work:
1. In adb shell, type:
Make a note of what "recovery" is mounted to.
adb pull /dev/mtd/mtd2
replacing "mtd2" with whatever "recovery" is mounted to.
3. There will be a file called "mtd2" or whatever you pulled, rename it to recovery.img (to make it easy to remember).
4. Go to Recovery Builder
and upload your recovery.img. See if they can use it to build a new clockworkmod recovery for your phone.
5. If you're feeling bold, you *could* try flashing your recovery.img via fastboot.
