Default USB Speakers or USB external sound card

Ok so my sound on my laptop went. The speakers nor the headphone jack works.(Well only the left ear of a headphone works if you plug it in. And yes these headphones work perfectly in my phone.) So I either have to get a USB Speakers or a USB external sound card.

Which do you recommend I get? I was looking on Amazon for external sound cards and I saw this: http://www.amazon.com/Syba-SD-CM-UAUD-Adapter-C-Media-Chipset/dp/B001MSS6CS/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pdT1_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=3EPXN8JNCI 0AN&coliid=IRKH4VVEQ6XBV

Reviews say it's good. But I wanted your guys opinion. Should I get that or USB speakers? Also not the speakers just have a headphone jack too. (That's if you recommend me any)
