Default Where is my 4G?

Hello all,

I've had my EVO pretty much since launch and have yet to see any 4G signals. I live in North NJ area.

I was under the impression I would be getting 4G since I am paying an extra $10 a month.

Does anyone have an idea of when 4G is going to be available? Everytime I see an EVO commercial blaring 4G, it makes my stomach turn.

Has anyone contacted Sprint for refunds of services non tendered?

Thanks!

Good luck nailing Sprint for refund of services non tendered, especially now that the $10 surcharge is going across the board to all smartphones, 4G or not.
I get 4G in my city a few places. Unfortunately none of them are at work or home. One of them is a Panera, though, which is kind of neat. That's about all 4G is right now for me, though - something neat to demo every now and then. Not reliable enough to depend on, though.

the $10 fee is a premium data fee, not a 4g fee. As of 1-31-11 all smart phones will pay this fee...as the consensus is that with these newer technology phones you will uses a crapload more data whether it be 3g or 4g.

With my data usage I would pay $175/mo at verizon or att. No thanks

On a more helpful note I am going to try and find the link to 4g coverage maps. I know here in dallas I pretty much have to be right under a tower to get a signal indoors. Its progressively getting better each month but right now...in most areas...I only get 4g outdoors near major intersections.

http://coverage.sprint.com/IMPACT.jsp?covType=wimaxdual&serviceType=data&mapc ity=New%20Brunswick&mapstate=NJ&INTNAV=4G:20100602 :WelcometoFastLane:CvgDetails

they have greatly improved the map...it actually lists now a staged 4g area...better signal near towers decreasing to worse as you move out

Where in north Jersey? I've had it in Rutherford, Jersey City, Hoboken, Ft. Lee, Palisades (spotty), Newark, and all the Oranges. Haven't tested it in Bergen County near the NY/NJ border because I haven't been that way. Forgot to check in Morris County.

Has Sprint posted any roll out plans for 2011 and 2012? I thought the roll out of 4G would be about the same as the roll out of 3G a few years ago but seems a little slower. I see Verizon plans to do Milwaukee and Madison this year and all of there 3G will be 4G in two years. If Sprint falls to far behind Verizon I may switch my data card to Verizon since their data cards are $10 per month less than Sprint.

CLEAR | 4G WiMAX Internet Coverage Map with Service Area.

I find this map to be much more accurate than sprints. Sprints coverage map doesnt even show any 4g out by me in Indio, Ca but clear's does. I can step out of work and get 4g but according to sprints map there is no 4g here.

Sprint is not responsible for anyone's misconceptions about the premium data fee or the schedule for 4G rollout.

Too often folks read blogs, rumor sites, and forums and take rampant speculation or guesswork as gospel. Then they're all honked off when Joe Blow's predictions for their own home are don't pan out.
