I have connected a Western Digital 1TB MyBook as sda1, with lots of movies on it. That's great if I want to watch the movies on the AMP1000, but I want to share those files on my LAN.

With my WDTV Live Streaming Media Player, its attached drive is visible on the LAN. But my AMP1000 is not seen on the network.

So, is there a way, through a third-party Android app or through an option on the AMP1000 settings, to share its drive on the LAN?
If you look on Google Play market for samba you will find some samba server apps like this one, you might have to try a few to see which works.

I'm not sure these boxes would be fast enough for streaming media either so you might want to see about a DLNA server app instead which might makes things a little faster.
