I have a Galaxy S2 (i777) with over 100 apps installed and have only used about a quarter of the 1.97 GB of internal storage. Might i ask how many apps you have?

There are a couple of things you can try to free up some of the space. First, go to menu>settings>applications and then press menu>sort by size. This will show you the largest space users. If you tap the app, you might see an option to move it to SD card. This will move a good chunk of the app to the internal SD card partition (not the actual MicroSD card). You could also try clearing the caches of some of the biggest data users like maps and your browser. You might also consider setting limits on SMS messages, since the databases for this and mail accounts tend to grow very large especially if you send a lot of media and images.
