Galaxy S3 helps Samsung make 4.5 billion

Samsung, maker of flagship Android devices like the Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Note 10.1 and of course the best-selling non-Apple smartphone in the world, the Samsung Galaxy S3, has recorded record profits again thanks to the strength of its mobile line-up, to the tune of 4.5 billion.

This almost doubles its profits from last year, and a lot of this is attributed from the impact of the S3 alone, which it is estimated has already sold up to 20 million units since its release, according to the Telegraph. Though its 4.8-inch screen is much larger than that of the 4-inch iPhone 5, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is its biggest competitor.

Thanks to its powerful quad-core processor and HD Ready screen, the S3 has been a huge hit with those after a mobile powerhouse, though the faster, bigger Galaxy Note 2 has already usurped that position.
