Personally I think CM9 is a big step over CM7 but it still has some issues to work through being that it's still beta. The biggest problems with CM7 are that HDMI does not work, the phone will not go into deep sleep with either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth enabled, and if you enable both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth together it pegs the CPU at 100%. Also, the GPS on CM7, while much improved over previous versions, is still not as good as it is on the Sharp and U9000 ROMs.

With that said, I'm currently using CM7.2. I tried CM9, Sharp, and U9000 ROM's and they all had issues for me with the way I use my phone so I had to drop back to CM7.2.
