Default BBC iPlayer app on JB tablet

Hi all,
I've just bought an Acer Iconia Tab A700 tablet and the first thing it did when I connected it to my network was update it self to JellyBean (4.1.1). So far so good. But I've noticed that when I downloaded the BBC iPlayer app (I'm in the UK), it just seems to open the mobile website. This is with or without the new BBC Media Player app installed.

Does anyone know if this is just how the iPlayer app on JellyBean behaves, or do I need to configure something to get the app itself to work?
