I handled the HTC One X and it felt better in my hand than the S3. It looked more solid. I'm not a fan the camera bump however. Can't say anything about the LG, it isn't released here yet.
Like you said, LG still have to prove themselves, but if Google can trust them, I guess I can trust them too.
