Your friends' smartphones are not subjected to proper experimental methodology so you can't really use that as evidence.
The Droid Razr Maxx has the best battery life while the SGS3 comes in at second place.
The fact is both smartphones shave excellent battery lives and you can't really say that the SGS3 is bad.
