You can technically flash a CM based ROM over another (different) CM based ROM and get away with it with just wiping caches (not recommended btw), but since you'd be making the jump from 4.1.2 to 4.2, a FULL wipe is required; whether you decide to stay on CM and wait for 10.1, or jump to another ROM.

As for tibu, it can't be *that* much of a hassle, can it??? You can even create a flashable zip will all your apps with tibu now.
