I have a Prime and while I like it, I guess I'm just not a fan of the 10" tablet style (love my N7).
We used to have a GTab 10.1, and while it was rooted, it was slow as molasses on HC. TouchWiz really didn't help it a whole lot. I believe it is lighter than the Prime. While aluminum is "fancy", it's a big reason why the radios in the Prime have problems. Even the iPad, while aluminum, has a black plastic band where the radios are for better connectivity.
I've only played with a Note 10.1 momentarily and the experience certainly felt better than the original. But, personally, if someone was looking at both, I'd recommend an N10 over the two. Just my .02.
