When you pay $300 or $400 for something, and it's broken, that's not a "little thing," in my view. Then again: I guess I'm "old school": To me, $300 or $400 is still a lot of money.

And you know what: I wouldn't have a problem doing that
if Samsung had the faintest clue as to what was causing the problem (besides their obviously broken clipboard code) so I'd have some hope I wouldn't have to turn around and do it again in another few days.

To you. To others of us that misfeature puts a serious crimp in the way we use our mobile devices. It's a show-stopper for me. Not because I wish to
make a big deal of it, but because, for the way I use things such as this, it
is a big deal for me.

Which is likewise broken design. If they felt they needed a manual clipboard manipulation interface, they should have made it available from Settings.
Which brings me to one of the most brain-dead aspects of this misfeature: Why is the clipboard being stashed in persistent storage in the first place? There is not another system I've ever used where the clipboard persists through logins, much less through reboots. If they hadn't put the clipboard in persistent storage the bug could be easily-mitigated by a cold start, rather than the extreme measures that are required.
In summary: It's a broken design, poorly thought-out, and poorly executed. To add insult to injury: It wouldn't even have happened if they'd just left the clipboard alone in the first place.

I've seen at least one report, maybe more, where upgrades to JellyBean did
not fix the problem.

They know about it. I've seen reports that it was reported to them as early as sometime in August. Near as I can tell: They still have no clue as to why it's happening.
