I know this works for folks born before 2k, I think for folks born after they need to add 100 and it still works. OK, here goes...
Take a tape measure, fold it over and put the end of it on your birth year a large U. Find the current year on one side, and on the back side will be your age you would turn during the year. So for me I would fold it over and line up the end with '75. I would find '12 and on the back side it would say 37 on the folded over side.
As I mentioned earlier, I think it still works for folks born after 2000 but they would need to go over 100 inches (i.e. born in 2002 would line the end of the tape up to 102 inches).
