That's right, 3G is considered mobile data. For most of us, Wi-Fi is something that we can be out of range of after less than a minute's walk. 3G (or "4G") is intended to be mobile like "you can still use it while you're driving a hundred miles away from home". Just don't try that while
you're behind the wheel!
