By stock rom I mean not having put any custom flavor of Android on the device. Just like you buy it from the store.
Did you buy your phone from a store brand new? Did you put any rom from this (or any other site) on it? In your app drawer do you have an app called "Super user" or "SuperSU" or similar?
Can you go into Settings> Mobile Network and do you see an option for GSM within there?
