If you are comfortable with placing your tablet into "download mode" (power and volume down button) and comfortable using odin flashing software - the process is relatively simple.
The stock 4.0.4 rom is often used to fix a bad flash to a custom rom, or simply to revert back to stock to ensure all of the oem files and folders did not get changed with the custom. I have reverted back to it more than once.
If you are rooted - using PC version of odin will remove it. If you are not rooted, no worries
