Thanks, Ryan. Unfortunately, that doesn't work for me. I didn't bother to mention it, but Alarm Clock Xtreme--the alarm I had been giving a try--has 'solve a math problem' as one of its dismiss options. It also has 'enter a captcha'--neither of which works for me PRIOR to putting my glasses on. A slider/swipe dismiss really works best for me.
