While BOTH of these could certainly be true ... the problem is not strictly a SanDisk one. Neither of the cards that got fried in my two SG3 were SanDisk.

My third SG3 is using Samsung SD card -- and so far, I've not had problems with it.

So, there may be something to the claims that Samsung memory is a better choice for SD cards for this phone.
