My advice keep the new one for rooting later.You should follow this guide from tommytopdrive to root that one.
Im still around here no prob,i've encountered the same problem and no one / nowhere to find the solution.

Put it on your Phone SDCARD folder or /sdcard from android explorer.
Then follow through entire guideline from GNM on there thread.
